Where Linode fits
Global reach without complexity
Genuinely global footprint, and reaching it does not require an architecture diagram. If you need users on three continents served with sensible latency and would rather not become a network engineer, this is a comfortable place to be.
Predictable pricing
Flat, published, forecastable — you can quote a client without hedging. And a predictable bill is a bill that gets paid, which is the quietest way to keep an account alive.
A console that does not fight you
Cloud Manager is clean and fast. You will not lose an afternoon to a permissions model before deploying a web server.
Why “boring” is the point
Infrastructure marketing runs on excitement — new services, new abstractions, new acronyms. Almost none of it is useful to a team trying to keep a product online.
What matters is that servers come up when you ask, the network behaves as documented, the bill is the number you predicted, and nothing changes under you every quarter. - Enable backups. They cost little and will eventually rescue you.

- Use Object Storage for static assets rather than serving from the instance.
